I started back to college full time today. Which sounds easy for some people. I will be 50 on Monday, and it isn't as easy as it used to be...Last semester was tough. Juggling school and home and health issues hit me hard.
I am afraid, my diet (mandatory by doc.) will go by the wayside and my weight and health issues will explode. I know I eat under stress, and school is stressful.
My hope is that this forum will be my avenue of support when the going gets tough. Knowing what to do and doing it are two different things. Hope I don't sound arrogant, I don't mean to, didn't mean to on my last post either.
Thank you for listening to me as I travel through another year of school.
Sapphireangel.

Good luck with school. I remember how stressful that can be (especially if you're hard on yourself - which I was). Do you have something (healthy) that you can turn to instead of food when you start to feel stressed? Yoga, knitting, journaling, etc? Maybe try preoccupying yourself with something other than food when you start to feel stressed. I know I used my eating issues when I felt out of control - I had to remind myself that even though there is the perception of control when you are using food when everything around you is stressful and out of control, it is a falacy. You're actually more in control when you take part in healthy eating.

Good luck. And let us know how it goes. What subjects are you taking.

Don't laugh, I am a Psych major and Gerontology minor. Taking Death and Dying, Human Aging and Senior Seminar in Gerontology. Lots of Research and Papers due.
I started working out at the gym today to help with being sedentary. When I am home studying, I want to eat, so I have to find something to occupy myself like fat free stuff, or water. But, I do tend to forget, or better word ignore the fact that I need to eat right, and snack right later on, when the going gets tough.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness. Being the only adult in the classes is tough too. The young ones are quick and smart and they get bored so fast. Yet, they are interesting to listen to. As you see, I have self-esteem issues too, which has plagued me all my life. Rears its ugly head at times like this. Looks like I need to be in Therapy instead of being one...Anyway, we all have our weaknesses, these are only a few of mine. What about you? Do you struggle with food issues too?
Regards,
Sapphireangel
