I had a minor operation late on Christmas Eve, I was released on Christmas Day, and since then I have rather lot my appetite. I'm not eating much, and idk how much I should eat either. I know I have to keep myself well-fed because the wound is deep and is going to take 2 to 3 weeks to heal as it is, but I am fighting against the chance to lose more weight, and the need to keep eating and keep myself healthy. I had about 500 calories today and the same yesterday, is this enough? I feel sick if I try eating too much. And I don't feel like eating anything too heavy.

500 calories is never enough, even if you are trying to lose weight! You need at least 1200 calories a day when you're well so a bit more probably while you're recovering. You don't have to eat "heavy" foods or foods you don't like in order to be healthy.

Use this calculator http://www.caloriecontrol.org/calcalcs.html to see what is the appropriate number of calories to eat for you. If you put in the healthy goal you want to weigh when you have lost your excess weight, it will tell you how many calories are needed to "maintain" that weight. So, if you eat that many calories now, you'll gradually get down to that weight.

Thanks Perna for taking the time to write Eating after hospital visit

The calculator thing says 1600 calories but that's way too much, I haven't eaten that in ages. It doesn't help that my weight is still going up so that's making me reluctant to eat too. I don't have much of an appetite anyway, even if I'm physically hungry, and there is nothing in the house that I really fancy either *sigh*. I can see me eating even less today...
