Ok, so I have the mini-handbook version of the DSM-IV...yeah, I know, I'm kinda crazy to have purchased that. But anyhoo...I was flipping thru it yesterday, and I got to the page talking about Pica and it was mostly talking about it in children.

I just remembered. When I was little - I ate crayons, and Elmer's glue, and rubber cement. I literally would drink Elmer's glue.

I also remembered one time when we were at my Grandma's house and she made bacon and I took all that was left...there was a ton of it....but I was so used to in my house, whatever was left we were supposed to eat it. Strange memory.

Oh, and I also remember sneaking into the kitchen and eating cupfulls of plain rolled Oats.

We were poor so we didn't have a lot of food on hand. I'm almost wondering....if I would have been a binge eater back then, if I only had the opportunity? All this started as soon as I had money of my own. I rememer stopping for fast food on the way home from work - at age 16 - and still going home and eating dinner with the family.

Hmm....interesting. Just never really 'clicked' until now that maybe the binging isn't just a recent condition...it's been going on for years.

Oh, and I also remembered that I used to wet the bed until I was 12 years old I just remembered this weird thing

It sounds like it could be fueled from childhood, it is possible.
