Ughh, I have trouble exercising, because I have a lot of back, neck and feet pain. I am having a really hard time eating healthy as well. Partly I'm sure it is my fault, or a side effect from meds. Doctor doesn't think I'm overweight apparently, well technically I'm not. But I've never weighed this much before, and it's really hurting my self esteem. I can't seem to get through to my husband that we need to be healthier. He has a major thing for junk food
![]() Any advice, suggestions? Thanks

can you ask your doctor what kind of exercise is safe for you? sometimes hospitals will have classes for people with limitations. also community colleges will sometimes have those types of classes. I have back and neck pain also but I can keep it under control by seeing a chiropractor. it does sometimes make it hard to exercise though. also a good way to start eating healthier is to gradually add more vegetables into your diet if you are not already eating alot of them. I like to keep alot of frozen vegetables in the house, they dont need to be peeled or chopped and it only takes a few minutes to cook them.

With back foot and neck pain some good exercises to do would include swimming (possibly water therapy), or Pilate's, yoga or tai chi. Just make sure you start with a class to learn to move properly so you don't hurt yourself and to ensure the proper modifications can be made for your conditions.

I think you must walk twice in a day. Try some light exercises to reduce pain.
You can massage your body with any natural oil. It will help you to reduce neck and foot pain. Good luck. |

Meds are so horrible when it comes to weight issues. I was on one that put me in a size 16 (heaviest Ive ever been hands down). I told my Pdoc if he did not take me off them I would take myself off them. Once they were changed I went from a size 16 to a size 10 in nine months and Im still going down. (I no longer have the junk food cravings which in turn I eat healthier and I work out) So see if there can be a change that way.
I also found that yoga is my new friend. I made fun of people who did yoga. I was like, "come on, that's not working out" "all the sunshine and finding your happy spot....please." Ok Im eating my words. I was hooked after day one. It is a workout, gentle work out. (I actually started sweating! Really, I did!) I had a kink in my hip (due to weight and being out of shape) and its gone. It helps with your balance (which mine is very sad still) , stretches out kinks, strengthens your muscles, and Ive heard it has helped people actually lose weight. As far the "zippidee doo dah" stuff. Its actually not so bad. I learning to relax and breathe. To let go (even for a moment) of whats going on in my mind. Be open minded and give it a whirl...... Walking is my special outlet. I plug in my earphones and go! One day I had a really really bad day at work and for the first time ever walked two miles. (in like 30 minutes) I lost myself in music and walked. I thought I was going to die afterwards but I felts so good. I hope I helped. Good luck.

You could talk with a Registered Dietitian - that is a legally protected term in the USA - only evidence-based health professionals can use that job label.
A Registered Dietitian will be able to review your diet and that of your husband and offer you both advice about healthy eating.
