Hello, I am 22 years old, I weigh 94 kg and I am 175 cm tall.
I want to reduce my weight, because I don't feel comfortable. I want to get to maybe 80 kg. I really hope that you can help me and maybe give an advice how to get into good shape as well. Now a little bit more info: I am a uni student and spend 4 days a week at uni, eating only 2 apples and drinking a 500 ml bottle of mineral water every day. Eating at the canteen is expensive and I don't like bringing home-made food either (don't like the taste). During the day, I have 1 coffee at uni. When I get back home, I have a dinner, and usually 4-5 days of the week I have some kind of meat on my dinner meal. I mostly eat chicken meat (2 times a week), cod fillet (2 times a week) and I also make soups 2-3 times a week. As for vegetables, I have potatoes or rice with my meals. I also eat brown bread, around 3-4 slices a meal. I quit smoking almost 3 years ago and since then, I have the 15 additional kg that I want to get rid of. I don't drink hard alcohol, but drink a lot of beer on weekends (around 4-5 beers each day of the weekend, and sometimes on Thursday night as well). As a result, I have a "beer" belly, which I also want to get rid of. I have a velo-bike at home, because I don't have time for gym (my uni is a different city and travelling to there is time-consuming). I ride the bike 1-2 times a week for around 30 min each day. That's about me. Do you have any recommendations on how to proceed from here? I really hope that you can help me. If you need any more information, please ask and I will answer. Thank you and much appreciated. Last edited by venom0706; Feb 19, 2016 at 11:48 AM. |

You should consider doing more sports. I bike for commuting every work day for about 40 minutes on a hilly road and it doesn't really affect my weight much. Can you use a bike for commuting?
Losing weight efficiently is not easy and it has a lot to do with change of life style. Start little, bring in some small changes into your daily routine. You can start with going for a short run every other day. I usually start with 10-15 minutes and then increase gradually. I personally don't like running, but it is one of the most efficient sports for weight loss. It gets much easier once you are used to it. I know some people who lost weight by excluding something from their diet. I know somebody who lost a couple of kg by not drinking sugary drinks at work. I know another guy who lost a bunch after stopping binge-eating at night. Start small, don't push yourself over the limits. |
