I used to refuse to have personal internet access and went to the library to access it. It helped. Then I needed it for work and a long-distance relationship, so that is no longer an option. It seems that no phone can be programmed with a secret password to allow internet access at certain times of the day. I just thought of the possibility that an app exists for that. Ironic. I'll start searching the web for an app to control my internet addiction.
I also have a teach yoursekf book on neurolinguistic programming I'd like to study too and see if that helps.
What has worked for you?

I don't usually have difficulty with gambling, but I noticed that there had no responses. Just wanted you to know that we care. There are some forums that get less traffic than others.

I believe I have an internet addiction too. An addiction to facebook and a few message boards (including this one). I am going through a depression now and have a lot of anxiety about finding a job. Somehow it is soothing to me to have contact with others about issues we have in common, or in the case of facebook, having contact with others that also find amusing/interesting what I do.

I'm not really sure what to do about it . . .

I've been using the Screentime app on my cell phone recently and it has been helping me so far.

A year or two ago I installed a software on my mac computer ( now I have windows ). It helped me as I gave my password to a family member. If my family member had my password for this blocking software I could not go in and change the setting for what I would like to block from accessing. But when I some time after got real wish to gamble, I found out I could just reinstall the whole mac system and there I did go again with same problem

I also for a while got someone to give me portions of my salary, but that didnt last long as it made a few economic difficulties for me and that I wanted all the money at once. I guess I got negative feelings or thoughs not getting all the money in my hands myself and that even I was the one who suggested them to rationate my money.

I don't know if this will work for everyone with a gambling addiction, but I do play those free, no money exchanged, gambling games and that seems to satisfy "something" in me.
Probably can't be that easy
