Should I tell my best friend about my severe depression?
I'm scared she will go away or feel disgusted by me considering we just recovered from a huge fight and we are trying to fix what went wrong. |

Hello abi13, welcome to Psych Central!
I don't know your friend as well as you do but you know communication is always a good thing. This is your best friend and may be explaining some about your feelings will help her/him understand better. A true friend will stick by you or return quickly and accept you as you are. You might find it actually strengthens your friendship and you'll have support too. Good luck and I hope it works out well for you. ![]()

I agree that a best friend is someone who wants to hear your problems and someone you can confide in. If she's a true friend, she will want to support you no matter what. Best of luck with this.

I am in the same boat. I told my best friend my problems who is also a female and she is by my side and not running away. It's a good thing.
