Am I delusional -- of is he checking out my legs? The last 3 male therapists I have been to have been checking out my legs.. LOL. I dont get it. I do like to wear high heels, and skirts, but come on -- I'm 48 and 229 pds. Not exactly a sex goddess. At any rate ... have any other women noticed this? Thanks.

,is it possible that they are just looking down. I know that I stare at my therapists socks all the time. I imagine if he was a woman he might think i was staring at his legs. The truth is I'm just not making eye contact.
I think the most important thing is to tell your therapist what you are thinking. How can they tell you what is actually happening if you don't tell them what you are thinking?

Male psychiatrists sometimes did that to me. If they didn't I thought I was repulsive, lol. I had a female psychotherapist when I was young and she often commented on my outfits and looks to boost my self esteem.

Well therapists are human beings too...but if this is something you find to be a persistent issue that's pretty unprofessional. Maybe interrupt them next time they do it, divert their attention...you can always ask if there's a problem if they continue from there. Sometimes you just get a bad vibe from professionals and there's nothing you can really do but hit the hills. I hope it doesn't come to that for you.

I would just ask him. " hey T ____ I notice that you seem to stare/look at my legs is there a reason?" T's ask direct questions and its fine to ask them also.

I think with some it's so much of a habit they don't even realize they're doing it. The fact that you see him doing it, I'm guessing without his reacting by looking away since you don't mention that, may point to this being the case.

Maybe you're more of a goddess than you realize. But in any event, if it has become at all uncomfortable or just distracting you should let him know, in the interest of a productive therapy environment.

I think there's two possibilities. The first is that you have particularly attractive legs, as three T's in a row have stared at them. The second is that they're not checking you out, but just looking down or something.
