Hey all!
I'm new to the forum so hopefully I am doing this right. About 2 years ago I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. I was placed on celexa and a beta blocker that I don't remember the name of. It worked, in my opinion. About 6 months ago, my provider switched me to Zoloft because of cost and availability. It was terrible for me and I went to a different provider who put me back on celexa. The new provider had to get my history before she would give any meds. So after a couple of sessions, she says I think you are Bipolar type 2. I had described some episodes of what she called hypomania. Anyway, back on the med and doing great. Less anxiety, more consistent mood or what I would describe as being content. My question: at work I swear I was hearing music when I know that music shouldn't be playing. Is that something that comes with Bipolar? Or is it the med? |

Hello DMEV, welcome to Psych Central.
Not likely to be the medication. There can be psychosis in bipolar, just as there can with depression. Also be aware that anxiety can make us imagine things when we are on alert. Sounds like the medication you are on is good but might need a small adjustment or an addition to, so mention it to your doctor next time you see them. ![]()

Music comes from emotions. You were hearing your feelings at the time.
