Lately I realized that I have no problems making prolonged eye contact with strangers (basically staring). It only gets awkward when I see them being awkward. That is when I need to force myself to look away and then control my eyes. In the end I end up remembering less than I should be because all my focus is not on what the person is talking about.

This weirds out people when it happens. Girls often think I am attracted to them even when I am not. I can see them being nervous. It generally happens in one on one conversations.

I have a similar problem. I have to force myself to break the eye contact.

I can see where that would be a problem. I have the exact opposite problem. Eye contact is scary for me.

Well, things changed. Now I find it difficult to hold a proper amount of eye contact. Usually it is fairly short. I don't know what to do with my eyes.
