Why is this when they cause so much hurt to others?

I dont understand this either. I have a horrid mother and her boyfriend is a real sociopath. They made my life miserable and I am happy I am finally free. But I wish karma would play its card and give them what they deserve.

It's a thought provoking question Jenni. I used to think about karma the way you do but I have seen too many things that have shown me differently. I have seen very kind and compassionate people die too young when I feel the planet deserved to have those sort of people here. I've seen very good people struggle and struggle and they never get a break. And I've also seen bullies rise to the highest level in their profession, how is that fair? I could go on and on with examples of the so-called karma not working. I understand what you are feeling with this but you need to let it go for your own sanity.

I guess I don't believe karma for another is what I would like it to be? I can't know if their karma shows up or not as I don't know all the goings on in their life. In other words, karma isn't always "flashy"? The bad driver doesn't necessarily get in the car accident. They may want something bad from someone else and not get that but we'd have no way to know. Maybe they don't get a promotion at work because nobody likes them because they don't get along with others. It can be more complicated than tit for tat and I have faith that the law of averages will get them someplace :-)

from what I was taught in school the karma we build up in this life determines our next life.

I does take time. Be patient. It took 5 yrs. in my case. Those who wrongfully fired me, now lost their jobs and had to move out as well.

Honestly, I think you're using the term "karma" way too literally. Nothing in life is so black and white. It would be a great feeling of instant gratification if someone wronged us then got hit by a truck 5 minutes later, but obviously life isn't that simple.

Not only that, but it is a perpetuation of misery. They will get theirs! Sounds kind of like why karma never works. Most people just kick the dog, that kicks the cat, etc.. Thoughts of righteous vengeance are harmful, in my mind. Bad karma?

I am not one for wanting Revenge. What happened, they brought on to them selves.

I think about that so often. And those who deserve some good karma do not see it. =, (
