Hi
I would like to know if people suffering from anxiety and depression have these symptoms : ear ringing, fztigue, strange vision (cannot focus on letters), eyes sensitive to light and sun, night sweats, headaches.... I have all those symptoms. I still wonder if they are connected to general anxiety/depression. My problem ici dont feel anxious or depressed. My doctor put me on escitalopram (cipralex) 10 mg 5 years ago but i am still not convinced all these symptoms are connected to depression! My doctor thinks so but not convinced! The only time i feel depressed is when I try to stop my medication. Then i feel really sad and empty. It s horrible. The meds have not taken my symptoms away and they are really really difficult to cope with. The nightsweats exhaust me. I m not menopausal yet! Thanks for your help. I d love to receive a professional insight to my symptoms, and hopefully a solution. |

Hello Nanou, welcome to Psych Central.
First of all, we are not professionals here, we are a peer-led group, so you need to be checking with your own doctor really. As with all medications, there are side effects, the side effects usually become more manageable over time or settle down completely. You say you have been taking this for 5 years now, are these new symptoms? Here is a link to all about Cipralex and the side effects are listed >>> Cipralex (escitalopram) It does not say anything about ringing in the ears but does say side effects may include fatigue, vision disturbances, increased sweating but nothing about causing headaches. It may be that there is something else going on to cause these symptoms you have or it may be time for an adjustment or change in medication. It is worth going back to your doctor about this. ![]()

Hi Nanou. Welcome to PC. You'll find tons of supportive people here.
I was wondering if you have had a complete physical lately. If you've never discussed this with your primary care physician, you might want to. |
