Had a session with my psychiatrist on Wednesday. Talked about some good things...stuff I more or less knew but never really addressed.
I wasn't particularly happy to learn about the possibility of Borderline Personality Disorder. Truth be told, there seems to be so much wrong with my head, yet I'm still doing reasonably well in life. Well, externally...internally, I feel like the surface of the moon. I have a physical health issue or two. Doesn't really help matters. I'm fond of movie quotes so I caught myself one day looking in the mirror and just asking, "Why won't you die?" Then I went to work. Before continuing, just want to put it out there that I'm fine at the moment. Not going to do anything or thinking anything really bad..other than how much I'm dreading karaoke later tonight. When you're being hit from all angles, just how do you even begin to find relief or a respite? How do you cope? There's got to be other stuff out there that I've not tried. I just don't know what they are. |

Hello Blockade Runner,
It's not always a bad thing to get a diagnosis, infact it can help you to realise that you have a disorder that you can work with and learn to cope with. You are not alone, many people have mental health issues and yes we do learn to cope with it. I know you are probably in shock right now but actually you are on the right road. Your psychiatrist will look into medications that may help and you can get psychotherapy to help also so you'll get support. Sharing here can help also yes, talking with others with similar issues. ![]()
