Hello guys I'm new in the forum and i'm looking for someone that can help me. One year and half ago I had a acute psychosis event after I smoked weed one time now I'm pretty good but I have simpton that is very bad. The simpton is that I feel the world unreal and fake is a sensation like a depersonalization but I don't know if is that. Now I take only latuda 40mg is a new generation antipsichotic med that help me with psicothic sintoms. There is something that can I do for this sintom? Maybe change the therapy I don't know? Maybe there is a antipsychotic that work better for this simptom?

hi jokko
it is something to talk to your doctor about. when i felt like that, it is a result of my trauma and as i worked on it or took meds that feeling went away so who knows what is causing it. it is best if you discuss it with your professionals. welcome to psych central. you will find we have several forums where you can post about your concerns and receive feedback from other members. you will get a lot of support here. again, welcome ![]() |

Hello Jokko, welcome to Psych Central.
Well, if it is related to anxiety then your doctor should be looking into helping you with that also by suggesting psychotherapy and/or a medication to help those symptoms. It is a distressing feeling and you deserve help with it. It may be that an adjustment is needed to the current medication you are taking. Go back to the doctor, you do not need to suffer like this. Hello. I had a stress/anxiety induced psychotic break at the end of january. It started with feelings of unreality combined with racing thoughts and progressed to me convinced I was in a dream and I had hallucinations and delusions. It was terrifying. Eventually I believed the only way I could "wake up" was by ODing (though I didn't feel it as committing suicide).I was even snapping my wrists with rubber bands.
Anyway, I ended up inpatient and was put on seroquel. Even with that I still have myself having moments where I feel things aren't real. Very scary. When I take a clonazepam during those moments it helps me calm down. Maybe a benzo would help you?

Hello Jokko, having a psychotic event is akin to breaking a leg or some other serious illness. It's something that can take a while to recover from so you need to be gentle with you. The latuda dosage will take a while also to take the right effect. It can take a month or more for the medication to get into your system properly. No you won't have brain damage! It will take time to feel well again.
