It's been more than three years since I've gone to a therapy session, so pardon my fuzzy memory. Biofeedback did help me a good amount. I remember I went to a fair number of sessions, but I was improving after three or four. I needed to do alot of practice exercises between seesions though. As far as if it is permanent, I did the exercises enough to the point where I can reflexively engage in them, which really helps me control my anxiety and its symptoms.

I only needed one session to prove I could manage my stress and pain in a focussed situation. It's a great tool to be able to visually see your improvement.

Had biofeedback in 1985 & it has worked well for me.
Helped with anxiety which helped with headaches, cold sweaty hands& so on.
Don't remember how many sessions but ins paid for it.
Did exercises until it was sorta reflex.
Even had a tape to listen to as I went to sleep.
Wish you the best.
