But..I'm feeling very afraid of myself. I'm 54 years old and have had over 50 jobs in my life. I quit all of them. I've lost my home, my career and my marriage due to my behaviour. I can't stick with anything, and constantly change jobs, buy businesses and sell them at a loss. I have now developed a gambling addiction and have spent all my money 100 grand to date. I feel I have no control over the way I think and the things I do. Has anyone else experienced this type of behaviour? I'm currently living in a country where I don't have a doctor, but desperately need to seek help, but I won't be here long enough to commit. I really feel helpless right now.

That sounds very rough. I'm sorry you're struggling with these issues. I moved about 10 or 12 times in the past 15 years and that was extremely hard on me so I can only imagine the difficulty of these constant changes you experience. Why would you say you can't commit to anything , is it boredom, or something else?

Can you try online counseling? That way no matter where you go, you'll have some continuity?
Have you had a medical physical to rule out those causes? Can you take herbs to help calm your anxiety?

Just a few questions, you don't have to answer them here ... for yourself.

Hang tough.

You know what, I think any addiction support group might help you. If there isn't a Gamblers Anonymous near you, maybe AA or Narcotics Anonymous - I think addicts would understand what you're going through.
Thanks for this!

wow, you and I have a lot in common:

inability to stick to a job
risky behaviour
burning through a high volume of money
feeling as tho you lack control
great deal of anxiety
behaviour impacting relationships

check, check, triple check. I WILL MSG YOU if that's okay

In the meantime, I agree about support groups. I suggest one for mood disorders and another for addictions

Me 2. Meds did wonders for my self destructive behaviors....except the drinking part which needs work on, but the obsessive spending, SH, depression, constant life changing. I can't stand being in one spot for too long. As a self employed remodeler, I have a different job every other day. I have an innate problem with people...especially stupid bosses.

I finally sought help and things changed...I changed. I wish you luck.
