I am working to compile a list of activities that may impact work and home function. Mine is specific to the IT industry, but there is overlap for general use. Anyone have anything to add?
Home Repair: Cooking: Shopping: Laundry: Finances/Bookkeeping: Parenting: Driving: Commuting: Meetings: Computer Programming: Service Calls: Hardware Maintenance: Product Maintenance: Training: There must be others I have overlooked for the home. Maintaining a home is a lot of work. |

Add: "Taking Care Of Yourself" to both.

My therapist made a list of activities for me to accomplish. Most of the list is designed to bring pleasure into my life:
poetry art cooking yoga walking find someone to play cards with etc Well, aIl haven't exactly provided a great deal of enjoyment, they haven't been disasters either. I say you should add some happy activities to you list. In my experience though some of them have been harder to do that the chores on my other list. |

The biggest anxiety at home for me is cleaning/organizing as it seems too much to do. I ignore messes and larger organizing projects (paperwork) and don't "see" the dust piling up on stuff until, when I do, it's an overwhelming amount. My husband recently died and I'm moving and getting this house emptied and cleaned/fixed, alone, is a major source of anxiety for me now.

yes, with regards to household tasks I find it difficult to keep up. I manage to keep things in their place and not allow things to pile up. However... my place beneath all the neatness is filthy. I haven't vacuumed in ages, and I haven't dusted in months. Things like heat registers and floor boards haven't been washed in a few years. My kitchen floor is awful. My bathroom doesn't get cleaned as near as often as it should. The only reason the laundry gets done is I have few clothes and linens and need to rotate through them every week or two. But thankfully, it is neat and orderly. I suppose I should be thankful I live on my own.

does this go along with your needing to fill out the insurance forms you posted in insurance... if so dont worry about what affects others. the forms are going to want to know details on what affects you. one thing about this kind of thing is that everyone is different. example wearing dresses causes me anxiety but wearing pants causes my wife anxiety. wearing dresses is no problem for her because she was not abused in a dress like I was. cooking the things on your list dont cause me anxiety but give me a thunderstorm and I am curled up with a blanket, comfort foods, a loud movie to block out the storm and my children asleep next to me, other wise Im a basket case.
my point if this is for your insurance papers just list what you have and how they affect you. there is no right or wrong answers. |
