I seems to have no motivation or ambition these days. It's been going on for probably six months now. Most days I can only work up the energy to do the absolute minimum.

I have been fairly consistent with working out these past few weeks, but everything else has taken a back seat to my lack of motivation.

We moved into a new house almost a year ago. I thought it would be good, because I finally have room for a workshop. I enjoy woodworking and things of that nature but just the thought of it these days wears me out.

Doing simple tasks around the house exhaust me I'll do the dishes or something of that nature and when I'm done I just want to take a nap.

Now I feel like I'm just rambling, so I guess I'm looking for some advice on how to get my energy levels back up. I had my testosterone levels checked about a year ago and they were fine. I'm wondering if it could be the depression and the meds I'm on are no longer effective?

Lack of motivation is a classic symptom of depression. Doing the minimum and forcing it gets old.

Have your thyroid levels checked for sure. Could be depression is you are diagnosed and taking meds. If the meds worked before and not now then the ones you are on quit working. pooped out we say

Depression I think.

Six months? That sounds about right considering the season. Winter is dificult - not just because it is dreary but because the days grow so short. We need light to be emotionally healthy. As the days are now growing longer perhaps your depression will lessen accordingly (next year consider getting a therapy lamp). Perhaps you have SAD (seasonal affective disorder) which is when the winter season affects you that much more than other people.

Thank you all for the quick replies. I've often wondered if I have SAD. I also discussed this with my pdoc at my last appointment. We decided to stay on the same dose of wellbutrin and work on cleaning up my diet. It's gotten quite a bit better but not where I want it to be.

Something I did just think of. A few of the last several times my wife and I have had sex, it's been extremely difficult to almost impossible for me to orgasm. I'll get right to the edge and then nothing. When I first started taking lexapro for anxiety, I had this problem. It seemed to disappear once I started taking wellbutrin. I'm now wondering if the wellbutrin is no longer effective and this is why I'm having trouble climaxing?

It would be very common for an SSRI like Lexapro to cause that. The Wellbutrin doesn't effect sexual function.

It's the Lexapro.

That's what I'm wondering. I've read several things that say docs will use wellbutrin to counter the sexual side effects of lexapro but it's not working anymore, and maybe this is why I've been having climax problems and no motivation.

Dependant on other symptoms, what you are discribing could maybe be hypothyroidism or other underlying hormonal issues. Not all depression is Mental Illness. Find yourself a sympathetic doctor and ask for a thorough blood workup and reflex test. Hypothyroidism responds well to the right replacement therapy.

Be kind to yourself Dan208
