Hi guys I joined this site to ask all of you for help. My girlfriend drinks and I don't. We have been dating nearly a year now and within that time she has been sexually assaulted on two different occasions. I have told her how I felt about alcohol as my past is full of tragedy with alcohol. She said she will continue to drink and I just don't know what to do anymore. I have little mental breakdowns and when she would go on a night out I would wait up for the text to know she's home. I have told her all of this but there has been no compromise. I don't want to let her go but I don't want alcohol in my life. Thanks for listening guys Advice would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Hello Looseknot: I used to know a guy who was fond of saying: "If you want to know which way the bullet is going... look down the barrel of the gun." Re-read what you've written here & you will see your future with this lady. Is that what you want for yourself? Only you know the answer to that question.

I see this is your first post here on PC. Welcome to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! I hope you find the time you spend here to be of benefit.

PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. There are many knowledgeable & caring members here. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
