I've had this feeling for literally as long as I can recall and I've spent over 20 years trying to make some sense of it or trying to get people to take me seriously but to no avail. When I was little...about 3 or 4, I said that I had a 'dear wife' and named her, and was once married. I stated shortly after, ''she would be very old now'' (over 100). I also have this weird attraction to a specific era in the early 20th Century. But, it also gives me a sickly feeling. Not really a romanticized feeling, but a 'dark' feeling.
I also have ''impossible memories'' such as an accurate memory of my own birth, memories of being in utero and also of being somebody else in another time and place. The town had wide roads, lots of trees, the shops had these banners on them and were packed closely together. People tell me ''you cannot remember your own birth, your brain would not have been developed enough'' so what remembered? The memories were confirmed accurate by my parents.
I also have a scar on my ''current'' body, where I was wounded in the memory where I died. I was not aware of the scar until recently as it isn't visible for me.
I loved to draw at an unusually early age. I'd draw stickmen and things like that, but then I'd spontaneously draw drafts of mechanical objects and concepts for submarines (one was of a tear drop shaped submarine with four 'wings' and two 'jet' at the back. Another drawing was of a mobile watch, which could read heart rate, tell the time and to be used as a phone), planes and cars, and they were annotated and measured as well. Take note I was only around 3 years old, and there are no engineers in the family.
At age 6 I tried to discuss consciousness to my parents, but they could not grasp what I was saying. I felt disturbed by my own consciousness, as well as my body. I didn't recognize my face, voice or my body as my own.
Please help me make some sense of this, because this has caused so much confusion in my life with no answers.
Hugs from:

You can have prenatal impressions, even birth can affect you, later in life. You seem to be very smart. Much of what you wrote is your thinking, and feelings.

Hello loverofcreation: I'm afraid the Skeezyks can't be of much help here. I don't believe in reincarnation, past lives, or any of that sort of thing. I can relate to what you've experienced though. I'm an older person now. But when I was young, I did believe in such things & had many of the same sorts of thoughts you're having, with the exception that I never thought I had any memory of my birth. In fact I've never had much of any memory of my youth prior to around the age of 8 or so.

I was born in 1948. And for many years I harbored a feeling that I was somehow alive, & probably died, during the Nazi era. I've always been a very anxious person... plus I've been transgender [MtF] all my life (although I never did anything about it.) So it was not a great leap of imagination to surmise that my high levels of anxiety & "transgenderedness" were the result of my having perhaps lived, & died, as a female somewhere in Nazi occupied Europe. I never really believed this to be true, mind you. It was more of a feeling that would wash over me from time-to-time. I certainly don't believe it nowadays. I don't know where these things come from or why. But it is interesting how these sorts of thoughts can gain a foothold in one's mind & hang on.

Anyway, that's my story. Thanks for posting this. I enjoyed having the opportunity to share my similar experience.

my thoughts on this....

yes there are some religions that believe in reincarnation, there are also many paranormal sects, witchcraft \black magic sects and cults that believe and practice beliefs like \ similar to reincarnation.

there are also many tv shows, movies and books that have since been debunked that contain the idea that this or that person has been reincarnated.

in my own life those that I know who have gone through this kind of thing the answer was actually quite simple. they have at a very young age over heard many conversations in the family about their birth, history facts, seen videos and movies that are period specific and about the conception, in utero and birthing process so much that in their minds it became a mixed up reality to them.

one common example is when a child is old enough to see they have or dont have something on their bodies that their opposite gendered family members and ask why, and when relatives are pregnant a very young child gets exposed to the facts of life process many times over the span of 9- 10 months that relative is pregnant. then for a time after the baby has been born.

there are also some mental disorders that cause a person to have these kinds of feelings and beliefs even if it has not actually happened.

my suggestion is if this continues to bother you contact your treatment providers they will be able to explain to you whether in your religion, culture reincarnation is a possibility for you, they can also tell you if this problem is a part of your having mental or physical illness's.

Can we look more deeply at what you said here? See BOLD:
How do you know you used to say you had a wife? Did you parents tell you you used to say this? Are you saying you remember saying this at 3 or 4?

You say your mother can verify the details you remember about your birth. What details do you remember?

Lots of things can trigger false memories, and we can think something that isn't true.

I think these COULD be past life reminiscences, and what would be so wrong with that? BUT the fact is, if that is what they are, we would all have them, there is a reason we do not. That you do is an error on natures part. So, could they be about a past life? Sure, there is enough evidence such a thing exists if you choose to look for it. BUT if you are looking for validation for some special or psychic ability; well, you wouldn't need to 'look' for it if it was there. am presuming you cannot see into the future or predict events. Therefore you are in the position of maybe accepting-sure, this could be a reincarnation issue BUT what of it? We are here to live THIS life.

I don't believe in reincarnation, probably because I wasn't born in the actually very huge culture that does, where reincarnation is the natural belief. Despite that I do have some memories that never happened in this existence. They are like my own memories but it is impossible they could have happened. At least they couldn't in this lifetime. I always saw these memories as natural and NOT an expression of mental illness. But then I have also seen ghosts and just because this culture says that is psychosis I am very adamant I have NEVER had any psychosis.

I have many memories from ages 2, 3, 4, and 5. Mostly good memories, or funny ones.

First off you aren't alone. You aren't the first to experience such things.
Have you tried searching the internet? I'm new here and not clear on what links allowed to share here. But run searches in children experiencing past lives, psychic children, (Chip Coffee ran one of the shows, try twitter), etc. they have had a number of reality shows based on such things. I'm sure they would be available through Netflix or other.

I've seen cases of very young children sharing horrific tragic events, sharing details, only to have their parents research the details given and find accuracies. Its interesting.

Keep digging.
