I have this feeling that I am inferior to everybody else, and that I am a failure in everything I do. I know I am not completely a failure, but I feel I am. I find this thought to be a powerful source of discouragement and frustration. I get glimpses of feeling powerful and capable, but soon after I return to the state where I feel I am so not. I imagine that if I do anything I will fail miserably, which cripples me from doing it.

That is a very difficult "feeling" to have Mr. Stranger. A lot of people struggle with this feeling on some level too. Actually a lot of people get glimpses of feeling powerful and capable, yet when they want to put that into action, they suddenly feel "fear" which turns into a very low feeling or even sometimes anger, and turning that anger inward which is hard on the person who practices that.
Some people that rose to fame became VERY stressed and suffered from anxiety because all the attention they got would get overwhelming. A lot of celebrities were known to begin using drugs to help them cope. There is still a lot of drug use taking place in society. Most of this drug use is to deal with stress and the ongoing "fear" of failure that a lot of people struggle with that they hide. |
