If you could, would you go back into the past and fix mistakes you have made or keep them as learning lessons? If you would correct a mistake, or multiple of them, what would you fix? Just curious.
Thanks for this!

I think we all want to fix our mistakes, but I've been very cautious to see the bright side of having gone through the pain that I've brought upon myself. Rather than regretting so much of what I can't change, accept and embrace it to better myself as a person.

But if I could really change anything, I would have appreciated my late grandfather and cat while they were around.

My mistakes helped me become the person I am today and have the relationships I have now. In that sense I wouldn't change them.

There is a couple of mistakes I wish I could change only because they hurt
other people and I would love to be able to take them back.

I would NOT get married to the guy I did & listen to the red flags I realized before the wedding even though I do love my daughter....Other fix would have been to have left LONG BEFORE I did & not waste all those years of my life in that situation.

Also might have stayed in the commercial business end of computer design/programming rsther than going into aerospace....longer lasting career would hsve been better.

I like the fix I have ended up with though would have liked a better financial outcome than what happened sticking in that bad marriage but at least I am financially responsible with what I have.

I would undo all of the years that I've wasted in my adult life not learning or growing as a person.

I let the pain control me and make me lazy and weak, not to mention, I've learned very little and I haven't had any meaningful life experiences from the time I was 20 until I was over 24 years old.

I want to go back to being a 20 year old and redo my life so that I can have a better life now.

I'd go back to the age of 16 and refuse medication specifically Zoloft. That medication made me very ill and lowered my inhibition. I ended up cutting my arms that resulted in some awful scars that I still have today. It really killed my self-esteem, especially since I never ever did anything like that previously. I regret doing that to myself. It didn't help at all.

My temptation would be to go back and fix things. However, I would only go back if I could do so with the same mindset, maturity and knowledge/wisdom I possess now at the age of 49. I believe I had to go through those hard lessons and painful times and had to 'earn my stripes' so to speak. I'm in a much better place now.

I'd go back... not for myself so much... but I hurt so many people along the way. The trouble is... I wouldn't have any idea how far back to go or what to do to make it all turn out better. I think I'd also almost have to erase my whole life & start over... or maybe just erase it & leave it at that...
