I rarely talk to anyone, but yesterday I decided to ask this women a question. She seemed ok at first and answered my question, but then she started talking about all this random stuff that I didn't even ask about. I was really confused and I said "sorry if I'm being rude." Because I didn't know what she thought I was talking about. After reading another thread, is it possible she was dissociating? After she left I had to ask someone if I was making sense and the person said yes.
But this is why it is so difficult for me to have conversations with people. I rarely ever make small talk and when I try to people either seem annoyed with my questions or something happens like yesterday and I leave thinking I did something wrong when I'm pretty sure it wasn't me. Can someone give me a suggestion as to what was going on with this person? I hope I didn't offend her some how. |

You didn't offend her. She either disassociated, misunderstood you or was pulling your leg. Keep working on your small talk skills. I know it's hard...it is for me to and I always second guess myself but keep trying. Best wishes.

Rambling often indicates the need for support. She may have been feeling depressed herself, and needed some support.
