Hmmm.Apparently when I posted from my phone the whole thing wasn't posted.

If you tell your T she will probably just talk about it with you and that's it.There were times I went to therapy high and told my T I was.We just talked about it was all.I also talked to him about drinking.

It's ok to talk about those things in therapy,or anything else you want to talk about too.I don't know if you are in the US but here, what's talked about in sessions stays in sessions unless I am a danger to myself or others or there's child abuse involved.

Thanks. The reason I want to tell her is because I scared myself.

Hi palsera27. I'm an EMT/ER tech and I can tell you right now that unless your drug use impairs your ability to perform activities of daily living, no one can force you into detox. Even when we get severely intoxicated patients they are only treated and moved to an appropriate medical floor until they are sober and then they're free to leave.

I think it would be a really good idea to bring up your THC use with your T. Secrets will only hold you back in recovery and ultimately you may want to taper down your using since THC is linked to anxiety, depression, psychosis, and other mental health issues.

Sending good vibes your way.

Yep, what Ruby posted is correct. A therapist in the US is a mandated reporter, meaning s/he has to report any physical abuse in the home between adults, any emotional/physical/neglect abuse if a minor (under 18) is involved, suicidal or homicidal intent. That's all. Everything else is okay to tell her.
