My sister has had severe health issues for years. Initially, I thought it was down to her having a dairy intolerance and major depression. Now she has been diagnosed with FND and has to use a wheelchair, or crutches to move about.

What is this anyway? How can somebody younger than 30 end up like that? But maybe social services caused this. They had her kids taken away and she hasn't seen her oldest son in years now. That would mess anybody up. Her most recent boyfriend sent my sister a barrage of nasty text messages, calling her anorexic, saying her boobs shrunk and referring to himself as "the third crutch" too, and he went on about how her having that disability was ruining their relationship. I've told her not to respond to anything he says. He has acted like a jerk many times before. Once he even said that if he didn't get sex from her, he would go elsewhere. So after hearing that, I told her not to speak to him again, but when the year began, he came knocking on the door like nothing had went on between them and she went down to his flat. There was a time where I had a bad cough and I went in the kitchen to get orange juice, but he talks so loudly. When I said I was ill, he said he would have to wash his hands. Uh!

She could probably put in a claim for to start receiving PIP.

your question.... what is this anyway?

easiest way to explain it is that sometimes the brain doesnt work right. in some people they have unexplainable seizures in others they have trouble walk or talking.

I was diagnosed with this for years before my symptoms progressed to the point of being able to be diagnosed with MS.

the way my doctors explained it is that the brain works by neurons and receptors. think of it like a road map. the nerves tell the brain something and the brain sends the message along its way but sometimes for some unexplained reason the message gets on the wrong road or mixed up so when it reaches its destination the message cant be understood. I may want to stand up but by the time the message gets to the brain and then to my legs the message is all garbled up or never reached my legs. the result I try and stand and fall back down because the muscles in the legs havent received their message to contract or expand to do the job of standing.

Some people have explainable seizures and other people have problems with talking and others walking.... theres a whole bunch of things the brain controls. and when the messages get garbled or sent to the wrong places what the brain controls doesnt work right.

over time with me these unexplained problems became clearer to where it could be diagnosed as something different (MS)

if you google the disorder you are looking for info on you will find not only the info that I was told by my treatment providers but also information such as some places call this conversion disorder other places call it by other names
Thanks for this!

Ah, I see. My sister thought it was caused by repeated harassment from social services. If it's not that, I think maybe she acquired it naturally (sorry if that's not the right term to use) I don't really like social services either. They've never did my family and I any good. Plus, losing your kids takes a lot out of you. She has had a lot to type up for her lawyer and is always exhausted, but still likes to find the time to enjoy life. I'm also feeling depressed and angry a lot too, as I don't get any support. But then if I had support, I don't feel like I can trust these care professionals.
Thanks for this!
