Because it's true for me. There were bad rumors about whether I had some kind of condition in elementary, but I ignored them and teachers just tried to shut them down. I just wish authority figures were more upfront about how weird I was. Today, I had flashbacks to the old me. My mom did not bring my glasses to the mall and one could easily tell I wanted to have a screaming tantrum because of it, of the kind I had many of when I was younger. Most people would only be mildly nervous about that kinda stuff, but because I'm used to routines not being broken, I became agitated and wanted, as they'd say in the likes of 4chan, to REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. That moment, I was all, "WHY COULDN'T YOU BE MORE HONEST THAT I'M A ****ING ****** AND A ****ING *******! NORMAL PEOPLE DON'T ACT LIKE ME WHEN THEY THINK THEY'VE LOST SOMETHING!"

Where I work, there's some type of outreach to eliminate the use of the "R" word.

I get it's a lingual thing, vernacular, meant to self depreciate or insult. At the same time, why use it?

That said. Self depreciating. That's something that sounds like could use some work in your life.

Stunted coping skills. Intense emotions over forgetting your glasses? Did your mom come to your rescue? And why?

I feel bad that you seem to be so hard on yourself. What are some things you like about yourself?

But I don't hate myself or anything. I was just angry at that moment and I'm really prone to edgy rhetoric knowing it gets me attention. :P

I know that the OP was filled with basement-dweller type edge, but really, all I mean is that I was weird and adults should have been more open with that instead of learning that too late from same-age peers. Also, they shouldn't have made me feel like a special snowflake who knew everything. (BTW, I find it interesting how my posting style varies by thread to thread. I sound here like some kind of angry male basement dweller, while in my thread about being addicted to another forum, I sounded like a cutesy teenage girl. )

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
