I dont want to sound "edgy" or anything, but I've been struggling to connect with other people since I've had multiple negative experiences with betrayal and neglect. I can truly care about one person, and only because I met her before my ability to care started to go downhill. It's an apathy for humanity and its wellbeing that easily turns to genuine hatred and disgust at times.

I think I may have delusions like thinking I'm swimming in water or in space or something I'm not, so I'm wondering if my hatred could be one of them? It doesn't FEEL like it though. It may be a personality disorder but I'm not sure. Hoping to get a therapist or counselor of some kind in a few months and I'd like to know what to ask about.

We here on PC can't diagnose you. (You probably know that.) Plus I'm not a mental health professional. So I can't offer you any definitive information with regard to what you are experiencing. That said, I don't believe hatred is generally considered to be a delusion.

I may be wrong about this; but I think hatred is sort-of a manifestation of anger. So, with that thought in mind, here's a link to an article, from PsychCentral's archives, by our host Dr. John Grohol, Psy.D. on the subject of anger management. The article provides links to a number of additional articles related to anger management. Hopefully some of the information in these articles can be of some help:

You mentioned there is still one person you truly care about & you're struggling to connect with other people. I take these to be positive signs for you future.
