Hello. I've had this problem for a few years now. I've noticed a lot of different things bring me to tears. I don't necessarily mean like balling my eyes out (although I can let it get to that point if desired), just usually at least watery eyes and the likes.
The thing is though that it usually isn't even anything sad. For instance, things that really amaze/interest me easily and frequently bring me to tears. I can hardly ever watch videos of space shuttle and rocket launches, or Air Force aircraft demonstrations, or even stargaze on a clear starry night without it happening. From the little I've looked up I generally gather this type of thing is usually a result of being emotionally unstable, or feeling overwhelmed constantly, or for some people/cases being traumatized in the past. Just wondering if anybody else experiences anything similar or has any other info.

My take is that your a very sensitive person that connects passionately with life in general. You have a connection with nature. It can be tears of sadness but also tears of joy , of an intense overwhelming feeling of wonderment concerning life and endless astonishments. These things touch the very core of your “ soul”.
Your emotions are easily stirred and rise from the unconscious and burst through your consciousness, unfiltered. Embrace it.

I don't think there's a thing wrong with what you are describing. I have had the same experience at times in my life and wondered about it. Interestingly, in me, it doesn't seem to be related to depression load,as I am very depressed at the moment and there is not a thing on the planet that could currently get me to cry (except my kids, of course). I am just numb to everything. So, my take would be that it is a positive thing that you are feeling things. That's being a human. Onward!!

Lots of things bring me to tear up....beautiful music, a photo or painting; hearing and uplifting story. Embrace your sensitive self; we need more people like you!

Hi @Photonate:
Quote:
5 Reasons Why People Who Cry A Lot Are Mentally Strong here is just one article. I cry tears of joy all the time. Sad things make me tear and devastating things make me weep. If I have an argument I will also get teared up which makes me feel betrayed by my own body because I really am angry. But in no way is it because I am unstable, or from past trauma or even from bipolar. I have been stable on meds for 16 years now. its just how you are. I have accepted it about myself and so has my family. I have decided that I am lucky to have the deep feelings and connections I have because so many people are bottled up and lost and would give anything to experience what I do.
