I am hoping that I can get someone's opinion on how I should handle a situation. Suffering form bipolar and pretty bad anxiety it is not a good mix for using good judgement at times. Well, I did a really stupid thing and now I regret it and wish that I could try to make it better in some way. I've had an issue with my next door neighbors for a long time. They are pretty inconsiderate and we've had issues where they come on my property, caused a bit of damage here and there but nothing serious. The biggest thing has been that they will not even do the basics like mowing the lawn. Knowing that they bother me there are just little things they do just to be jerks. Well, on one of my less than rational days I flipped them off. Needless to say things have not been good, and neither has my anxiety. I really want to apologize, but have been told that I shouldn't bother because it is going to make things worse and cause a confrontation. I know there is the risk of that, but i really do feel like I should apologize. Does anyone have any advice? If it is causing me so much anxiety would it help anything to apologize? I am afraid that they are going to be much worse in the future.... I suppose this would seem like a minor thing to a lot of people and they wouldn't worry about it... of course I just keep dwelling on it. Thanks for anyone's thoughts.

If You don't want to confront them directly, can you send them a letter? Just write one and leave it at their door. It will then be up to them whether they want to read it Or Accept Your Apology, but at the very least you'll be able to get it out, sort to speak, and you'll be able to apologize to them! Give it a thought and I hope things will get better soon. If they keep being rude to you and they keep causing damage to your Property, perhaps file a complaint to your Landlord or whoever else is in charge of the place. You have every right to Live Peacefully! Sending many safe, warm hugs to BOTH You, @Gib2018, your Family, your Friends, your Neighbors and ALL of Your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?!

Thank you so much for your reply. I have situations that come up sometimes that just put my anxiety through the roof. This is one of them. I like to think I'm a good person that makes mistakes. I know others look at things differently at times. I had thought of writing them a note and then at least they will know that I am sorry. If they accept that or not I can't control. I am hopeful by doing that I can feel a little less anxious and if lucky they will understand at least a little bit. Thanks again and a big hug to you!

You need to protect yourself from them. Build a gated fence to keep them off your property. Don't look in their direction. Best to stay out of sight out of mind.

Maybe leave a note in there mailbox, or a copy of this post. So they can hopefully understand for someone with disorders like you suffer from how hard it is to put your self out there and also to know you genuinely feel bad and want to apologize it. You were a bit out of line with the finger but with time comes stronger feelings usually good or bad and you were fed up. Hopefully you guys can find a happy medium for the sake of your own and there comfort in your homes. Love thy neighbor, nahhh, just respect thy neighbors maybe
