Has anyone done age regression therapy? And how can I safely do it?

I heard that it can help you overcome things like childhood abuse and trauma. I'm interested in it because it will not only help me confront issues from childhood but also allow me to have the childhood i never had. The only issue i have is that it is very stigmatized and you need to have the right environment.

I'm a 27 year old male and the prospect of me acting like a child is something people don't understand and will ultimately criticize. I also am not in an environment where it can be done safely.

I've dealt with several traumatic and violent experiences in childhood from family and even in adulthood that retrigger memories of childhood.

I have found things like using pacifiers, stuffed animals, blowing bubbles, young children cartoons make me feel good. But what i want more than anything is the affection from someone that i missed in childhood, things like hugs, kisses and holding hands. not in a romantic way. Just an affectionate way.

How can an adult male do these things without being attacked even further? I want to heal the wounds of my past.

I just told my therapist the other day through email about some stuff I like doing. She said if it helps me cope especially at this time and if it’s not unhealthy then it’s fine. I’m 27 too.

Can you explain what this therapy looks like? I've never heard of it before.
