Well, they are PREDICTING rain again for tomorrow, with temps in the mid-60's, and maybe rain again on Monday or Tuesday. Still, I'm skeptical.

I got another humidifier yesterday since the one I have isn't powerful enough. I do wish they had made it simple though, with just filling it up with water and turning it on. They made it with a digital display where I select various options, and it doesn't look as easy to clean. I was hoping for get a simpler model, but it was 9 years ago that I got that other one. I'm somewhat intimidated by it, as I'm not "mechanical." I read the brochure twice, and I haven't taken it out yet. Now that I have an apparently better one, it probably WILL rain and get really humid. LOL But most of the time it is about 30%, too dry for me and my sinuses. I'm also more vulnerable to getting colds if it's too dry.

I just want it to COOL off, and be more "seasonal". We get enough hot weather year round.

We have been in the grips of an Arctic blast in Kansas for 12 days now. We were without water for six days, due to an issue with our water pump. We are still in a tough situation, b/c the water tank we use to haul water is frozen up. Tomorrow will be the first day this month that the temperature will be above freezing. Hopefully, things will get better from here.

It was "supposed" to get warm up into the forties today but right now it is still thirty degrees. My car is parked two miles away stuck in the snow. I thought about walking to the car and taking some pizza boxes to put under the tires to see if I could get traction but I don't feel like walking that far in the cold when it might not work and I would have to walk two miles home in the cold.

Yoda,

Have things improved yet for you?

Two miles one way would make anyone stop and think.

Our vehicle is parked in our driveway, but we have been having water problems.

Yes, better, thank you. The main roads are clear but the side roads still have at least an inch of ice and snow packed on them. I was able to rock my Audi back and forth to get enough momentum to get out of the snow so I am mobile again. The cats are glad that I was able to get to the store to buy cat food because I had run out of cat food and cooked some macaroni for them. They ate the macaroni but they weren't happy.

It was supposed to be in the midforties today and downtown it was but it is always colder here in the country. We have ten inches of snow and we are supposed to get some rain this weekend. I hope that doesn't cause flooding. I live by a creek and one time it flooded and the water got underneath my house but fortunately didn't flood the inside. I think flooding is probably the most prevalent natural disaster in WV. Think positive thoughts for us.

Yoda,

I had an Audi once that I just loved!

Glad things are improving for your slowly.

We were able to get some water in our well today, so we can get dishes done, and little things like that.

Lower 30's today and overcast. But it's still better than it was last week when we were lucky if we made it to 20.

Tomorrow it'll be almost 40 again!! Whoo hoo...

Warming up some, and something that I vaguely recognize as sun, I think. Don't walk too close to my house if you find yourself in the area. Huge iceburgs and avalanches falling off of roof. Terrifying.

It is currently somewhere in the low 60's but I wish it were warmer. Guess I'm lucky that I don't have to deal with freezing weather and snow though.

At last, the rain has come, and it is supposed to be around for the next 3-4 days. Finally, it feels like January.

I hope the people in the hillsides don't get hit too hard though, because the recent brush fires make them so vulnerable to those mudslides.
Thanks for this!

According to our local weather website it is 4.6°C today.Which is about 40°F for you guys across the sea.I'm betting it's a bit colder now being as it's half 10 at night.... oh, and it's raining, surprise surprise!

We had snow here a couple of weeks ago (not much of it!) and the island came to a halt! Flights were cancelled in and out of the island, schools were closed, and lots of people took snow days.

Silly British weather.
