Whether this is the place or not...the traffic here usually lends a plentiful response to random queries. Or not in this case...who knows.

Just wondering...I own a few colognes. What mens colognes do you yourselves enjoy? I'm running low on a favorite and was just thinking about something different. Then wondered what folks thought about some of the popular ones.

I was always partial to Farenheight, I haven't been with anyone who wore cologne in a long time though, but that's the one I remember that was really good. It was made in the 90s so I don't know if there is an updated one.

Burberry...the original one not the others, Brit and such, that they've come out with since. It's sometimes hard to find but I love it.

I used to love Grey Flannel. Haven't been near a cologne section in a long time though. Maybe I could do a walk through near one this weekend.

Hi MiP!! How are you? Long time. Yes by all means your own favorites are welcome. Make it a fragrance thread in general perhaps.
Thanks for this!

Because of our chemistries, it is hard because the same cologne, or perfume for that matter, can smell one way on one person and not so nice on the next. If looking for something new, I would suggest as Nicks Nose mentions going by a counter, scenting, and then trying some to find what appeals to you. The sales personnel can be very helpful sometimes if you tell them what you have worn in the past and liked, and then to make some suggestions too. A trick though is to smell your sleeve or take a small bag of coffee beans/grounds to smell in between scents to clear your nose and to not to confuse them or get overwhelmed with all the smells. They may have samples to take home of some and to try as well before you actually decide if you are not sure about something, or just commit to a smaller bottle that you are interested in until you know for sure.
Happy sniffing!

I think they do http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brut_(cologne)
That one has a long history...haven't heard of it since I was a kid. I'd like to smell it again. Same with Old Spice...not sure I'd like it but would be fun to put it on for a test run.

I like Armani Code for men. However, everyone is so different like Fresia said. And women like different scents too. I mostly like something that is a bit spicy but sweet and not musky, on men and myself. And not spicy like Old Spice hehe, my dad wore that a lot, but spicy like it has some yummy spice like cinnamon or fig or something woody.

Cool Water! I absolutely love this smell of gentlemanly kindess on my men! I could love a man blindly just because of the scent of it! Cool Water hands down, give it a try and you'll have to beat the ladies off of you with a broom!!! So you might as well buy a carry along version, or a rake at the same time that you buy the Cologne if you would like to survive the wave of endless love you will surely encounter. I can smell you from here and just thinking of it makes me close my eyes and think of the times we would have together. You must wear this Cologne most certainly. No doubt my friend. Great question! Yours truly, Lightbulb7

Arghhh! I had it LightBulb! Loved the stuff but it wouldn't last 3 hrs. Same with Aqua di Gio...premium price and didn't last. Aspen a drugstore priced slosh was really similar to Cool Water and lasted all day+. My GF a few yrs ago loved it. I'd try that again but can't find it. I used Aqua today and just tucked my nose into my sweater...it's there but subtle...and maybe that's the way for some scents...needs someones nose tucked into it to be appreciated. Not a bad concept really!

Oh I love Aqua too! Just as good and very comparable, nice substitute. My nose is quite fickle from time to time, even good ol Spice is nice to a degree. Something manly for sure. Nice!

How about a cologne that makes a man smell like money?

Well I may be an idiot, but all cologne implies to me that the man has a dollar to spare! If he cares enough to wear cologne, I wonder if he would care to spend a night under the stars with a big bowl of popcorn with me! But that could be naive, I realize. Not every good smelling man is Mr. Right....I suppose. But you sure could have fooled me! lol Maven

I do know one thing...stay away from AXE. The allergy causing chemicals in AXE are horrendous.

Yes they do still make Brut and I think it is a nice once.

Aramis...... sigh..... is wonderful.

Most of Hugo Boss is pretty awesome.

I am a sucker for woody fragrances.
