You think the CIA lets people with mental illness in?

Sorta off topic, but when my sister joined the Coast Guard and went for her security clearance, they did a background check on all of her family members. And each subsequent new clearance has required new checks. Wonder what they actually check when they check your family members out?

I got Impressive Mastermind too. Hm, wonder if there are different answers.

When they check out family members, they mostly check to see what organizations they belong to if they are in activities or groups that are against our country. They also do financial checks to see if there is a possibility of blackmail or whatever. I needed a security clearance for the job I had as an aerospace engineer because I was working with military security information. My dad also needed a security clearance years & years ago when Lockheed was building military planes & he was working on them......those are the things they were looking for.....not anything about whether family had mental illnesses or not.
