Being cared for, feeling special to someone, being able to share how your day goes with someone, including them in my plans, my schedule, sharing meals and cooking together, thinking and getting to know what the other person likes and loves in life, hearing that they think of you, being intimate with someone, the marriage ceremony, meeting his family, holding hands just because you want to, the kiss good-bye, the kiss hello, hearing that he wants to make you happy, feeling attractive, being held at night...

And I got all this for the first true time at age 37 with my boyfriend now!

many lonely years until this time, they melt away though..

I agree with everything Junerain says. But it's all interspersed with spats and negative nonsense. Which are just human. I wish I had a perfect marriage. But I just have a normal one, most positive, some negative. It's interesting, though, being with someone else (intimately) for a long, long time. If you love them (as I do) you'd be amazed how it doesn't matter as their looks change and they become older. You love them just as much! There's no change! There's a great, felt, experienced value in growing old together. You can josh each other about the silly changes that take place: hair gets white, muscles slack, eyesight declines. And you can laugh about it with each other. Old age is no joke, but you can laugh about it together. Well, Junerain, you got started a little later than we did, but I hope that you and your love enjoy each other so much that you too stay together a long, long time. Til death do you part. Take care!

Having someone that loves you and knowing that fact. Even when words and actions fail to say that at times from both sides.

Sharing each others thoughts .
I think there's a difference between being alone and being lonely.
I don't mind being alone , but loneliness is very tough.
There are many things , I can't say what's best , I love them all.

sharing every aspect of your life with your best friend in all the world. I wake up every morning to my husband laying beside me and I know that no matter what happens, good or bad, he's my best friend and he'll always be right there beside me.

Being accepted for who you are and knowing you're loved and cared for because of who you are.

Also cuddling at night and having someone to talk to you when you feel alienated from the rest of the world :3
