yesterday at work I guess I must have found the wrong door to enter the school....( I work in 30 different elementary schools...it happens!!) and this one girl demanded WHY I went in this door, when the school is shaped like this, and the door comes this way, so people can see me this way, and let me in, and first try this door, and where did I park....I said I parked out there, and pointed to where I thought I must have parked..the general direction...she demanded details to where exactaly I parked, (details scare me) I confessed I did not know where I parked, I said I am a visual learner, could you please draw me a map, please. (She did not!!) She proceeded to talk extremely quickly about this door, that door, how the school was shaped, how the parking lot was shaped, and I couldn't follow it AT ALL!! I waved my arms and said I am a visual learner!! I dont follow a word you are saying!!! She concluded that i must NOT take the kids outside, and that I wasn't safe with kids, either.
I am furious.

((Junerain)) - sorry this happened. Does this lady know you work for the school or is this the 1st time you met her? The reason I ask is: at my daughters school - visitors have to come through the front door and check in at a desk in the hall and write down name/time - this is to prevent unsafe people from roaming the halls and keep the school safe. If someone tries to come in another door, they won't be allowed in. Most schools are very strict about rules and where people park.
If she did know you, then yes she should have been more patient. Sorry you had this experience.

I don't work for the school, I work for the YMCA, and we are supposed to park exactly where I did, I have worked with this lady before, we are supposed to enter through one of the doors I did enter through, they didnt let me in at first and I headed to the main office, which sent her to hysterics, They should have let me in, everyone gets let in.

Yes, well, everyone seems to be speaking their own language, these days. It is too bad that so many seem to negatively converse, as a result of it. I hope you can find a way to get past such an ordeal and positively move forward.  Have a good one.

That must have been so stressfull for you dear one! There are some people who think themselves above others and talk down to them or in a manner that belittles them. This woman commenting that you are not safe with children is not only defaming you but is discriminating against you too. Do not allow her to do this to you It is usually the way that those thinking they are better than others are very much beneath them. You are high in our estimations and we think of you with respect and fondness

Well I don't understand her at all really, so I would have been like this
  as well as you were.Hope this passes and the stress comes down a bit. For lands sakes she could have been kinder I think! |
