HEY EVERYONE!

i know it's been a long time since i've written, but i decided that it was time to take off all my passwords and allow the whole world to read about my experiences while living at a psychiatric hospital. it's been a year, and i just got out, and my experiences are HARD TO READ.

let me repeat, they are HONEST, SOMETIMES GROSS, AND DIFFICULT TO GET THROUGH. i am 100% honest about things that happened to me while living at mclean psychiatric hospital, and though a lot of people may not agree with what happened, i leave that judgement up to god.

i hope you enjoy what you read, and please comment

Thanks for this. I, too, check myself into psychiatric hospitals to feel more whole and balanced- to work on myself. I hope your health continues to improve, and you feel good about yourself and your life

Hi Jenn, I'm really glad that you're doing better, and that there was help when you needed it. And I'm also impressed with how brave and honest you are. Don't be offended though, I found some of what you wrote so upsetting, I cried for you, and your boyfriend, and your baby. I'm not sure I can read much more... but I just wanted you to know that I care, and I'm glad that you're doing better. (((hug)))
Thanks for this!

wow thank you so much for taking the time to read, all of you. it's incredible that you'd take the time to read what you could and get back to me.

it isnt all about the baby and the pain... if you go back far enough you can really see how sick i was and how much better i got. i wish i had someone else's journals to read about because then maybe i would know if i was normal, if what i was feeling (what i AM feeling) is relevant and okay.

until then, it means the world to me that you read what you did. thank you so much, and leave comments if you want. im always around

thats the thing about recovery, you are so busy and yet the nights are so long...

((((((((((((jennaorgana)))))))))) Thanks for having the courage to write about the types of things that us folks get forced to shoulder and carry, largely alone that others never get a glimpse of. Just rmember, the rest of us are out there, we aren't exceptions. we are an army
Thanks for this!

Good for you Jennaorgana. I was an inpatient recently, confined to a bed, and it was an interesting view of the world and it's people.

I was on a medical floor, just me and another woman - but we were considered the "trouble-makers" and were placed at the end of the hall. The woman next to me was suffering from diabetes/kidney problems, as well as Down's syndrome - she had some trust/confusion issues, and I can't really blame her.

I wasn't allowed to get out of bed because I was a "fall risk" due to my severe dehydration and amyloidosis.

We needed to be constantly monitored, so a "babysitter" was assigned to our rooms, in order to free up the nursing staff. Those poor nurses were running as fast as they could to care for each of their patients. The "babysitters" looked just as frazzled.

An elderly lady was "babysitting" one night when my nurse came in to speak with her - they spoke in Lithuanian. After the nurse left, I commented that her language sounded pretty - but I don't know the language and was not eavesdropping on her conversation.

She told me the nurse was her daughter, and she lives with her. She sometimes works double shifts - or whenever she gets called back to replace one of the babysitters. This was one of those nights. Her husband was in Lithuania, caring for his elderly father.

I was thrilled when someone came in to relieve her. She was such a nice woman and really needed some rest.

Good luck to you on your recovery, healing and growth.
