Ahhhhhh!!!! I don't think anything could wipe this smile off my face. I got funding from my school to do a 2 week intensive course in Austria! I took 7 years of german and have wanted to go there forever. I never thought I would ever have an opportunity to go to Europe. I'm soooo excited! I can't believe this is happening! I probably won't believe it until I'm staring at the Atlantic from a plane!!!!!

which city or region are you going to? Austria is a sweet country.

If you like chocolate, you have to try the Mozart Kugeln (Mozart Balls). They are worth every euro-cent.

That's fantastic. I hope you have a wonderful time. I've never been to Austria specifically, but I've been to Europe a bunch of times and I love it.

How awesome! I'm German, so I've been to Austria many times. It's a beautiful country. And I second the Mozart Kugeln. Yum!
Also, if you eat out, try the "Kaiserschmarrn". It's my favorite food, but of course I can't get it here in the US, and I don't know how to make it either, not properly anyway.
Have fun!

Welcome to the first day of your life

Just open up your eyes as I lay you down tonight
Safe on the other side
No more tears to cry

Actually that is a great time. Hiking in the alpines is beyond amazingly beautiful. I live in a mountainous region but other then the Canadian Rockies there is nothing like it.

Graz is great, I went to Graz and Vienna a few years ago. Austria in general is really nice.

In Graz I loved this bar/coffee shop called Aiola Island that sits in the river -
http://www.xomba.com/aiola_island_is...licious_coffee
it was really cool!

Make sure to get out and about and see other places in Austria too - their railway system was really smooth and efficient, made it very easy to get to Vienna, I'm sure other cities are easy to get to.

Here's a fun fact - Arnold Schwarzenegger was originally from Graz. They named the local sports stadium after him, but I think the name has been changed now. It was still the Schwarzeneggerstadion when I went there though (I went to see Scotland play Austria at football/soccer).
