so today I give my notice after five years.
I have taken months to consider this move.
The crunch came when our hours at the cafe were cut and now I'm $20 better off a fortnight if I don't work.
I will have more time for my kids and house work.
Yesterday my boss gave me a talking to, all because I pointed out (politely) our legal right to written notice before our shifts reduced.
She called me un reliable and implied that she only kept me employed as a sort of charitable act.
Now I have bipolar but I'm not stupid. I am reliable , I have worked bloody hard for them.
So its time to move on. Wish me luck.

A big change for you but you seem positive. Good luck.

work, leaving after five years.

Hmmmmmmmmm.......I, for one, won't be going to that cafe. Don't like your ex-boss's attitude one bit. She's obviously the one with the problem. Wishing you good luck (((((((rapid)))))).........it will come your way. grey

Good luck! I recently quit my job too. It was scary, but the right decision.

Doesn't sound like like you are the one with the unreliability problem, dear. I happen to LIKE your attitude. It's great you stood up for yourself. I think it was the right thing to do all things considered, especially if working was going to start costing you. That kind of math is just wrong, you know. Oh yeah, and i don't take that kind of charity either Just want you to know you aren't alone. HUGGGGGGGGGSSSSS!

Keep your chin up. Life has many transitions. I am sure you will succeed. Perhapse better than before. If there were issues before you now embark with a clean slate as far as interpersonal relationships.
