Ok, I'll get my reply in before you delete......bet it felt good to get that out & express your feelings. It's important to let our feelings out & acknowledge that we are feeling what we feel......take a breath & go on from there....just like you are doing. With all you have been going through, I am sure that what you are expressing is absolutely appropriate.

Hope you can work through the stressful situation & come out in the end with the best results possible for you.

Praying that God will guide you through this stressful time & that his will will be worked through the trials you are going through.

It wouldn't let me delete it, so I had to overwrite it.
Guess all my stuff has to stay unless you-know-who deletes it.

I'm really stressed with the storm sitting on my doorstep that they promise won't touch us here.
PTSD from storms. I'm like Jeckell and Hyde at these times. Sorry.

I understand how these things hit us. Just last week, the cooler weather hit with the fall feel in the air (already.....grrrr). When that feel of the air hits me, it is the trigger for all the PTSD from everything that happened starting during the fall weather with my mother & my horse & really sets me off, so I can relate to exactly what you are experiencing.....sets off the anxiety & also the depersonalization experiences start to hit also.

For me the timing was actually good because that very morning I had my DBT group & it all came out in there along with having my psychologist's appointment later on that day. It was the first time that anyone really validated what I go through & that it's NOT MY IMAGINATION of what I am feeling & experiencing.

I am so sorry that you are having these experiences......but they are a normal response of your body & mind to the trauma that you went through. Interesting point that my psychologist made to me was that it's best not to try to push away those feelings, but to accept that this is how we respond & to work through the emotions that come out trying not to surppress or block them but also not holding onto them or amplifying them either. The emotion of fear which I am sure is probably most of what the storms bring out is an appropriate emotion because it does prepare us for the necessary action if the storm were to really hit. During the time when these emotions hit, be kind to yourself, taking care to get enough sleep, eat well, even do any possible exercise to help get the feel good endorphins going & try to do something every day that will help you feel competent & in control of what's going on in your life ( harder to do than say).

During this time, try to focus on some good things in your life & when your mind wanders to the fears, try to refocus on the good things in your life (like Caleb).

I know how difficult these times are & the emotins you are experiencing are normal....please take care of yourself & be nice to yourself....I know I am working hard on handling these emotions also & the fall season is just beginning for me.

Sending you understanding & gentle 's

I can imagine it would. Watching it from the sky, it looks like a huge bowling ball with folks on the coast reduced to bowling pins.

I hope it bypasses you without any damage. My heart and prayers go out to those who will get hit.

There was a story of a woman in NC who is refusing the mandatory evacuations because they won't take her dog. Her dog is all she has in life, so she's going to stay behind with him. Impoverished, she's not at all prepared so she's terrified.

I hope they do a follow-up on her to see if she and her dog made it through the storm.

Keep breathing. There's only so much you can do to prepare - the rest is up to God.
Thanks for this!

Spending a moment in Pottersville are we? Hope the storm wanders by you quickly in the next 24 hours. I'm up here on the Chesapeake in Maryland and they say it won't bother us either (Saturday), will wander too far east. I'm glad of that. But I could do without 3-4 days of rain; we've already had a major thunder storm this morning but my husband says a worse one is coming this afternoon. Sigh, indeed.

Yes... sigh. I keep telling myself and am actually believing them... and now the hurricane, though intensifying, has turned and "all" I am getting from it is dark cloud, down pours, and some wind... whew! BUT my unconscious isn't buying it...and continues to orchestrate my body to react.... I'm battling a pain flare because of muscle spasms and inflammation from that... pressure on the nerves... arrrrggghhh!

I'm okay I'm okay I'm okay... really. I think.

I'm sure the barometer and humidity isn't helping your muscles/nerves/aches and pains either, doesn't mine. Hope it zip by you quickly and the sun comes out later this afternoon!

Irene has finally turned! Talk about "last minute"... still, my body is spasming at will.
I hadn't considered the atmospheric pressure affecting me as well.
I drove down to PT and T in white out conditions today (10 am) could only see about 7 cars ahead at 50 mph (way under speed limit) but once I got around the group... the road was all mine. Coming back home the clouds and rain were black/dark grey and really beautifully weird cloud formations in that rain... sigh.

At home there are times of calm, as the banding is just reaching us here and won't become worse. Whew!

Now to convince my brother in Boston to forget that wedding on Saturday they want to attend and start driving WEST in the morning! I doubt they are picking up emails now though...and I've already called with my triggered self (about how I couldn't convince my dad to evacuate for Hurricane Andrew 19 years ago)....

My faith tells me things will continue to worsen over time...but I just don't want to be a part of it all, you know?

Thanks so much for caring to read and reply. I was gone nearly 2 months and very few even missed me, fewer who went looking for me... and this IS my social groupsigh. Trying not to think of how pathetic that makes me... surely not good things to think about at any time, much more when I'm stressed and in pain flare.
