If you could magically trade places then sweet. My only q is does it get very cold where you live ? I do love winters darkeness though thats when you can hide under the mink blanket and enjoy the darkeness listening to the winter storms However spring brings new beginings and new life

I live in Houston...Texas. We do have a winter but it doesn't stay cold all winter and rarely snows. Here's how it usually works out: A "cold front" will come in and we'll have cold weather for a few days and then it warms up again for a few days. This cycle is repeated from about late September or early October until some time in April or May. The coldest months are January and February. You would not like our summers and this has been a bad one. The high temp this past weekend was about 108. And I'm not even going to go into the drought we've had since January. We usually get a lot of rain. This year has been amazingly dry. I've never seen anything like it. I don't think we've ever had anything like it. A lot of trees are dying.
I've seen pics of New Zealand. It's very pretty. Other than the Hill Country, Texas is not really pretty.
If we could magically trade places you'd be getting the worst of the deal

Yes N.Z. has glourious pasture farming both hill and flat. However we get our fair share of droughts some so bad depending where you live we get water shortages. It recently snowed heavily here hasn't done that for more then 40years.I'd love to be in the great state of Texas during twister season though so swapping places would be great.just not sure about those wicked highs you have in summer lol I thought that 34 was hot wow you've got nothing on us temp wise thats for sure

I dunno about twister season but we have hurricane season... generally spring and summer. Hurricanes are not fun despite what you may have heard
I'm guessing 34 celsius which I think is ~93 fahrenheit. That's hot but not too bad if the humidity is low. We don't get many days of low humidity though. Still I can handle low 90's okay. We get into the 90's occasionally in winter. I don't like cold weather which is the main reason I still live in Houston. And there aren't scorpions here. I have a scorpion phobia The hill country has quite a few. Tomorrow should be our last day of triple digit temps. Nobody knows when the drought will end.
Enjoy your summer!

Yes, last day of winter for me in South Africa too. Go figure that the weather report is depicting gale force winds and cool temperatures for the 1st day of spring!

It may be your last day of winter, for me it's the last day of summer going into autumn.

We've had record high temperatures this summer. It's been a very hot summer, at least for us here. We've been in the 90's for a loooong time. But it's very dry here, no humidity really, so it's tolerable. Not looking forward to the snow already though.

It's so strange to hear that it's winter somewhere else (although I know about that of course), it's just something you know, but never really hear about.

Enjoy your spring!

Safe on the other side

Oh Mel80! To be in NZ right now!!! I live in Central NY. We get an average of 170 inches of snow during our winters! Not to mention the Farmers Almanac is calling for 190-200 inches this season!! The reason for all this snow is because of lake Ontario!! I do have to say that we had a glorious summer and were able to swim quite a bit.. At least we have Autumn.. they are always very beautiful here! But I am not looking forward to shoveling all that white stuff!!!

i agree whenwillitend, it does seem really strange that some parts are just begining what we are ending. like you i know thats how the world works but it still feels strange when brought to the front of your conciousness, i also struggle with the fact some people are in bed when it is middle of the day here, or when people ask what are you going to do today when it is evening! hey i still struggle to comprehend that i can talk to people all over the world and they reply very well in my native tongue! i certainly couldn't reply in theirs!!!

oh how I wish spring would start over here, too!
I absolutely hate winter. I hate the grey wall of clouds that hangs so low over the city, never seeming to move. I hate the darkness. I hate going somewhere at 2pm and then going outside at 5pm and it's dark already. I hate having to sit by the radiator for 30min after coming home in order to feel my toes and thighs.
And it's always wet and everything's dead

I should move

Summer is ending here in the US.....KY this summer has been hot & humid......actually a bit of fall feel in the air hit a couple of weeks ago. My only problem with the fall is that it triggers PTSD feelings from 6 years ago....seems to hit me every fall since then......so even though I absolutely LOVE the fall & the beautiful fall colors & it's finally the right temp to be able to function again. Seems that the only good temps for my functioning is Spring & fall. Winter too cold & summer too hot without the money to run my AC/heater. I hibernate in the winter & in the summer. Such different weather than where I grew up in California....even though KY is only a bit more north than where I lived all my life, it makes a huge difference in the weather & also being 2100 miles east of where I grew up also helps make the weather patterns different.

If I could just get rid of the trigger that the cooler fall temps seem to bring, I would really feel much better when fall hits me

Summer is ending here too but it has been one of the hottest summers on record...personally I wouldn't mind some crisp fall air and this winter bring on the snow days! I don't need to make them up
