"Resurgam"

i would love to get this on my arm...it means 'i shall rise again" in latin....which is symbloic to me for many reason...as a survivor of childhood abuse & of many encounters in law enforcement i just feel that i have been fighting my entire life.

there have been down periods in my life & yet even tho ihave been beaten i have always found the strength to rise back up again...ideally if i had the $$ i would include an image of a phoenix rising..but alas cash is a little tight.

i would use an old english type of font...something i didn't have here...& i do like the blue or perhaps red. just to live on the edge.

probably on the inside of my arm right below the elbow.

input?

I think that sounds great!! I love tattoos. I only have 1 just now but I have more planned. I think it's a good way to remind yourself of the past, what youv managed to overcome is amazing and it would be great for you to represent your struggles and strength with this tattoo, and 1 day u can still add the pheonix if u want.
Take care xkim

I love it! Old English script is great. I think the phoenix is overkill though. You can always add it later.

thanks guys! love the input.

i was born at 4 lbs 3 oz..12" long..a ruler..or a foot long hot dog...& have fought my way since then for 53 years...my parents wanted me dead for so many insane reasons & fought. developed DID, ptsd & a bunch of other initials...but managed to survive & thrive.

i'm tough,,but i struggle...& this would be a good reminder that when times are bad they are only temporary.

thanks. now if i can just find someone to hold my hand i'll be good.

(& yeah the phoenix can wait...)

Hun, the tattoos a great idea all round. I've got 1 right down my spine in Japanese ( the 7 deadly sins) and 'guardian' in Greek on my right calf, and honestly, it was no big deal. I thought it might hurt, but really it's childsplay. If you get inked on bone tho, it's a bit uncomfortable (some say painful) but I mean, c'mon I inked my SPINE. Getting 2 more in the future I say go for it!

I have 2 and I've always said if it has meaning to you and you want it go for it. I unfortunately got my first one for all the wrong reasons but luckily its small enough to cover up with something with more meaning.

I think it's pretty good, especially if you get it tattooed in a fancy font.

Love it, looks great! I have the Phoenix Bird on my leg as I feel I have risen from the ashes so many times! Now you will want another, I know I did. I know I am sick but I thought it felt good. Congratulations!

I'm not a huge fan of tattoos (even though I have one), but that looks very nice!

Hello Dear Stumpy,

Hmmmm, I don't like resurgam, for most people do not look at a
phrase from whether it is Latin meaning something cool.

IF I WERE you, I would tattoo it after my teddy bear's name.
>Sum Renata< sum which means in latin, "i am" and renata... a girl's name,
in Latin meaning "Reborn" or "Resurrected".

The CORRECT Latin grammar would be

http://able2know.org/topic/77389-1

Renatus Sum
I am reborn.

but, since I am not you, and it is not my ink. you will choose how to
immortalize your spirit in flesh.

SW

to the american ear, resurgam sounds sort of gross action.

Tattoos are wonderful in that at a later time you can always add just
a little bit more to it if you so like.

Like little bunnies and phoenixea dancing around or whatever
tickles your rising fancy.

it has probably already been said- but tattoos with meaning to the person getting it inked on-- so great!! if you have been thinking about this for a while then yeah!! It is inspirational to you as well- so that is even Better!!!

I have a little dude on the back of neck, i take a mirror from time to time- I drew it, It is an odd thing-- but I made It and got It on me and called It Figment of my imagination and i never regret the lil dude cuz well it just means so much to me even if others poke fun at it for it looks like something Dr. Suess would had drawn lol
And a lone fish thing that I also drew-- this was at a time in my life that I felt really alone, but it is really nice-- and I think from time to time to get my fishy a friend but will see

I just think tats that are meaningful to you-- are awesome, and if you have a good tat artist that can listen to you and draw what they feel from you-- that is even better !!

ah my t..the last time i brought this up she said "eww..TMI" & she uses an example of a bipolar patient who was off her meds & got one as an example for me...so i called her yesterday & told her my plans & closed with..& yes i am taking my meds.

i am sure she will not approve...not that she will say...but altho we are the same age & from the same area our lives have taken different roads...& that is ok...she is a good, no great t ...& we can disagree over this. she has 4 kids who may or may not have them...me i have dogs...i would be impressed if they went out & came home with one...altho i have rescued one from a bar repeatedly.

so tuesday morning ought to be in teresting & then in 2 weeks when i see the pdoc & my regular doc (who i imagine will be ok with it)
