For the lunar lovers, tonight should be a good night to look up. The moon will be at a rare stage where it's going to look prettier than it usually does. Bigger and brighter they say.Sorry to take up room on this but it's supposed to be something. Hope it's a good one with clear skies.

Just some facts on the Moon's distance for this month.
According to EarthSky, the Moon’s nearest approach or perigee will occur at 11:29 pm EST tonight and will be 356 955 km or 221 802 miles away. Full moon is at 11:35 pm EST, six minutes after perigee. Last year’s closest approach was on March 19 at 356 575 km. On May 19, the Moon will be at its furthest point or apogee at 406 448 km or 252 555 miles. |

Wow the diff. seems so small with the numbers that huge. One wouldn't think the diff. would even be dicernable. I guess it is....and I'm looking 4ward to seeing it, having really never heard the term Supermoon or even heard the event previously promoted at any time. A lot of fellers are readying their tripods and cameras right now I'll bet.
