FF. Privacy, control, and features. Look at my posts on google for more info. I don't like being spied on, tracked, and analyzed.

I found Internet Explorer slow and jerky. Google Chrome was very unfriendly. I am very happy with firefox.

In the poll I voted for "other".

Neither do I and that's why I use Iron from SRWare. It's basically Chrome minus the spy crap. It's been my main browser for a while. Another option for people that like Chrome/Chromium but don't like being watched is Comodo Dragon which is similar to Iron but has a greater focus on security (it is from Comodo afterall).

Both of those have 5 star ratings from the CNET editorial staff:

Comodo Dragon

SRWare Iron

I highly encourage anyone using either Chrome of Chromium to consider switching to one of those.

My secondary browser (behind Iron) is FlashPeak SlimBrowser. It is based off Internet Explorer so it can be used to perform Microsoft Updates (both of my computers have Windows XP). Those are the only 2 browsers I currently use on Windows. On my Mac I use Firefox but I rarely use my Mac at all.

I used to have Iron, SlimBrowser, Firefox, Opera, and Internet Explorer on my computer but a few months ago I cut back. I like all of them except Internet Explorer, but keep in mind that on Windows XP you can only use IE8 or earlier versions and IE9 is better than 8.
Thanks for this!

I love Chrome. I used to be an avid Firefox user, but I found Chrome to be generally faster, and when someone developed a GameFox for Chrome (UI upgrade for Gamefaqs.com), I was sold.

I don't particularly care much about the spy crap. I feel safe with Kaspersky running my internet security.

Sounds interesting. I'm not completely happy with FF. It's just the lesser of evils. Are there any add-ons to block tracking cookies, flash cookies, and other analytics? Google has many tracking and analytic tools independent of Chrome. Also other companies have these same things. And google has a few that aren't even under their name.
Guess you could always play around with the windows host file.
Maybe one day I'll follow Roadie and Dr V over to Apple
I'm not worried about rootkits, logger, malware, and virus problems. JS blockers, AVG, and other programs take care of those.

I'll check out Iron though. I like that they don't have any tracking companies on their site. That's a good sign
I wouldn't entirely trust those CNET positive reviews.
Thanks.

I love Chrome. I tried FF for awhile but it had too many cutesy add-ons and I want more bare bones; I am primarily a researcher use Google to search with and having that "be" my browser is wonderful and I love its bookmarking system and sleek look, etc.

Firefox usually displays webpages properly that other browsers have trouble with. I love it for that. The only major issue I have with Firefox is the amount of memory it uses. It regularly hangs if I have more than four tabs open. Last week, I checked on Activity Monitor to see how much memory it uses. At one point it reached 175% of the CPU.

Along with Firefox, I use Safari and Chrome. If I can't view a page in one, I will try another. It works every time.

actually just thought of something kinda funny, the only time I ever use IE on a computer is to download Firefox if it doesn't have it haha.

Ha ha same with me DenisDonnacha. If you don't like doing that you can put a portable version of a browser on a USB stick and use that instead of IE.

I like Google Chrome. It is easy to use. I'm not too worried about security.
I have software to handle all my security needs.

I'm using Iron atm. I'm going to try it out a bit and see. I hope google didn't sneak anything in
Haven't noticed any speed difference but I think you'd need some complex equipment to measure the difference in the speed of any browser to be honest. Works fine so far and has blocking add-ons available.
I miss the bookmark sidebar but I've been trying to get away from that. I still miss it being available though
I use my own htm file as "home" but haven't got all the bookmarks added yet.
Thanks for this!

George H. I use Adblock Plus for Iron. iamspecial that reminds me most browsers require some tweaking in order to get them to my liking. Sometimes it just takes a few minutes and other times I spend a lot longer (like I did with Opera, I tried so hard to make it the perfect browser for me, but there is no such thing). Usually only have to do it once though.

I've got that, a flash block, and do not track set up. If I could find a js blocker I'd feel better about it. It was a small PITA to get it to accept that I wanted to use my htm file as home. I'd need to finish making all my bookmarks clickable and categorized which would take forever...I could just save the bookmarks from the FF folder as a separate htm file and link to that from the homepage file. I'll try this for a few days and see if I can get used to it and find a js script blocker. I miss the about:config option in FF. And the FF development community. Thanks

Ah about:config I feel you on that. NotScript can help you control javascript to a degree. I don't use it but I used to use NoScript for Firefox and this seems similar. Might be something to look into.
