hmm.. "All our mistakes and our life are %100 our responsibility and our choices? Or other people interfere too much nowadays and it is no longer our choice and our life. Confused "
Mistakes-- I hope I am understanding this right, and by all means, let me know- no Beauflow, you aren't- ![]() I am not sure if there is an absolute to "mistakes"... meaning some times things just happen (some accidents are just that, accidents), some times things are in our control and we are the ones that mess it up, and other times - yeah another that has their hands in our lives can help for a "mistake" happen, and other times things are out of our control and everyone's else's..... I think the most important thing to remember is we only can "control" ourselves to some degree -- we control our actions, how we live, and what we do-- If we make a mistake, well then we should try to either "move on with what has been done, take that as a lesson" or if the mistake is able to be corrected, then perhaps we should be correcting it as best as our powers are in the capability of..... Perhaps I am off the wall and not interpreting this correctly on what the phrase of Mistakes are meaning here, which could very well be ... Be well

Sometimes we can only control how we respond to what's happening in our lives.....

I completely agree with Payne.
This is what I think: A really dear friend of mine told me this a while back and it made a lot of sense: pain is a fact but suffering is a choice. You are not responsible for things like death and loss and whatnot, and the pain that those things cause are real. You are however responsible for how you deal with it. I mean... at any given point of time, I think, we have a choice. So I could be in the throws of a panic attack and not really "in control" but I can choose to tell someone or call my T or whatever. This doesn't apply to physically triggered disorders obviously. I think we really only can control how we respond to things. But that in itself is a pretty empowering thing. Though difficult as hell. >_>; Hope that helps!

What about when we make choices based on someone else's word - but then later
discover that the person's word was a lie, or we were mislead, but based our choice on that misleading information? |
