Came home from work (middle school teaching), all flustered and preoccupied with thoughts and concerns. I saw that my tomatoes, planted in containers, were all pitiful-looking from lack of rain. I turned on the soaker hose, and told myself to let it run for an hour or so. Well...I forgot about it! and this morning, when I was leaving for work, there it was still running! This was enough water to fill my swimming pool twice over, maybe three times. I really hate that I did this, cause now I'll have an outrageous water bill, plus (and I haven't even looked) my basement is probably flooded.!!!

Welcome to my club seeker! One day, I turned on my stove top and left a frying pan with a bit of oil on it and went outside to check my laundry for just a second as my element warmed up. My neighbour was outside and started to chat and before I knew it, we had a kitchen on fire and next, the house was on fire and we lost everything.

Not to worry, seeker, hun. Life does go on. You are not alone.

O(h no, sounds like something I might have done!!

Hope the basement isn't flooded. On the positive side, you should have nice juicy, water-filled tomatoes when they ripen!!!

(Sorry for the bad joke ... feeling weird today ...)

So, how was the basement? Hope the tomatoes survive the ordeal too!

Just be careful not to electrocute yourself on account of all the excess water

Sabrina and IT...I haven't had the courage to even LOOK into the basement! Maybe I'll go down there this evening. It's a dirt floor and always damp anyway. The water would run downhill from where I was watering the tomatoes so it will surely be a mess!
