I have been ranting all over the forum about the persistent rain we've had and that my garden is now flooded. It just occurred to me that I am indoors, in my warm house, wearing my comfy fleece pajamas and that 2 years ago we were in such a severe drought that we had crippling water restrictions.
As sick as I am of the rain, I should count myself very lucky indeed!

But I don't mind admitting that I am quite scared. It is flooding quite severely now. Hubby is away and my son is doing what he can to see the water has a clear path.

((Sabrina)) - I hope this water problem calms down soon. Good to be grateful for rain, when the alternative is drought. Unfortunate when its one or the other. I hope your son can help and all will be fine.

The dogs kennel got quite wet and with the help of some friends my son managed to move it to the stoop area. Now the dogs won't get in and they won't come inside. We are going to put a lot of towels into the kennel and hope they have a warm and dry night. The rain is still pelting down but the wind is at least not blowing.

Animals are creatures of habit. My Bella doesn't like her crate moved even though she only goes in it once in a while. She even gets upset when I take her blanket out to wash it lol. I hope the rain stops soon.

Don't feel bad, in Colorado the summers are hot, everyone complains about it.. then the winter comes, everyone complains about that!

Weather is a tricky thing-- yes it is

just hope for a happy medium i think most of us can hope for, more than just weather too on that

It is not raining today, but there is a
lot of damage. My garden bed has been obliterated. For the third time this year. Hopefully the rain holds off now so that I can start cleaning up.

I can understand complaints when the weather is of either extreme. Whether no rain or too much, it can be disastrous and damaging. It is not inhumane to wish for a more balanced weather system.
Thanks for this!

Sabrina, I believe it's an inalienable human right to complain about the weather.

Hope the damage isn't too bad at your place.
Thanks for this!

It is still raining on and off today but not the downpour that caused the raging flood waters through my property on Saturday. The street outside is knee deep in water and during a clear spell yesterday, kids and dogs were romping in the water. The damage to my yard is huge and paving has lifted outside my kitchen. But it can all get repaired. I just long for it to clear up now.

((((sabrina)))) so often floods do seem to follow the drought so after the longing for rain we then long for it to stop; i hope yours will soon
Thanks for this!

It still rained this morning but the sun is now out and the sun is shining. I have laundry on the line that is actually drying! The water in the flower beds is slowly starting to subside.
