Thankful that I got my repaired refrig back after over a month without it & thankful that I had the extended warranty for it otherwise it would have cost me over $700 to get it fixed.....a refrig that was only 2 1/2 years old.....they definitely don't make appliances like they used to.....but then again...refrigs in the far past used to rely on ice to keep them cold

I am thankful that my illness is not crippling and that I can hold a job and go to school if I work hard and stick with it.

That I have a partner who puts up with my crappy days, cuz today's a real doozy. Also, she tries. When I bring things to her attention that I need help with around the house, she doesn't just blame me or get mad or throw a fit or ignore me. She makes a list and tries to be more mindful of her contributions.

I'm thankful for people on psychcentral for putting up with me. I would love to talk to you guys more.

I'm also thankful for a lot of support that i have received from people that I sought help from. They're much better than the friends that I have, never listening to the negatives of my life but only the positives.

I am thankful I can donate blood. It can save three lives, and babies only need a teaspoon of blood, think how many a whole pint of blood can save? I weigh enough so I can finally have enough iron in my blood, and today the nurse was able to find the vein in one try. What's also nice about donating blood is that they usually give out freebies, like today I got a free movie pass. So it's a good trade off, you donate your blood and you get rewarded in more ways than one. It just feels good to know that because of me, someone in need can finally get a transfusion, and I had no idea that babies need blood too and only need a teaspoon.

You know, I've been wanting to donate blood, but since I feel like my blood is no good and my weight is not heavy, I thought, why should I donate? I'm like why not wait until I'm stronger?

Why would your blood be no good? The only reason your blood would be considered bad is if you have HIV, hepatitis, be a man and have sex with men, or use blood thinners.

The reason why people who are skinny or underweight have trouble donating blood is because they do not have enough iron. I was 110 pounds at the time when I was first trying to donate blood and was rejected many times because I did not have enough iron and was only able to donate once at that weight. After I gained 40 pounds due to the meds, my iron is a lot higher. I don't know what your weight is, but have you ever tried donating blood and seeing how much iron you have?

They won't allow me to donate because of seizures.

Today I am thankful for real food .... fresh vegetables and fish ... nothing fast or pre-cooked.

Dr. Skipper, thank you for donating blood. You are right it saves lives.

Used to be I couldn't donate because I didn't weigh enough. I was a real skinny minny. Now I can't donate because of the meds I'm on.

so are you insinuating that all gay men are hiv-positive? I know some guys who are gay and they're perfectly normal. Not to be mean or anything, but I don't think that all gay men are promiscuous. They have lives too. What you see in Hollywood is really a stereotypical version of reality. I mean, why can't he be a celibate gay man?
