From bein' born in and reared down in Texas, I found that when I was old enough to know about bugs, I realized that I hated bugs....namely the big runs...I can't even bring myself to say the word....I have a few "bug" stories of my own.

One mornin' after comin' home from workin' the night shift, before I got in the house I stopped to check on the bunnies and feed/water them. Then I came into the house to feed the cats and then myself.

I heated up my food and brought my tray into the livin' room to watch tv and eat. When I went to take a bite in my peripherial vision I saw something BIG, BLACK, AND SCARY on my right shoulder. It appeared to be about 4 inches long. Without thinkin', from what I remember....my tray went straight up off my lap into the air, my bowl with food went straight up, and I remember seein' it in slow motion spinnin' in mid air, all the while I was "silently" screamin' and I was subconsciously flailin' my arms and tryin' to get the THING off me.

When I bent over still screamin' and flailin', I felt somethin' crawl across my chest under my shirt........so, without much thought, I began strippin' all my clothes off.....and I ran to go get a broom......I came back and the THING came crawlin' out of my jeans......so I beat the THING to death....after watchin' IT for a moment, I was satisfied IT was dead, I went to put the broom away....I came back.....and......the THING was gone!!!!! Rememberin' this story just gives me the willies!!!!! This THING was one of those palmetto bugs.......JUST CREEPY and DISGUSTING!!

SO, HOW ABOUT Y'ALL....ANYONE HAVE A PHOBIA STORY TO SHARE?

Oh ICK!! Just thinking about that makes my skin crawl. Of course in Texas they grow them BIG.

I'm in Michigan and our bugs aren't quite that big. But the other night I was on the couch, and the cat came to sit on my lap and just as he was getting comfortable, I saw this "black thing" crawling on my leg, and I stood up faster than a tornado, and the poor cat went flying about 4 feet in the air (he's a nervous kitty ) and I stomped on that critter to the point where I never could find the remnants of it when I was done! LOL ACK!

After the kitty calmed down, he came and sat with me again, but he never did get really comfortable -- he kept looking around for critters. LOL

I hate bugs, especially spiders. I can't stand the little eight-legged freaks.

Hmm…I wonder if I should say something in this thread? After all, I have a shed full of exotic critters, and my walls are lined with framed insects .

I don't have a problem with bugs, but my sister really does, even with butterflys.

My most interesting bug encounter would have to be the finger sized scorpion that dropped off the ceiling onto my face while I was trying to get to sleep.

Umbral....I can relate to that!!!! Down in Texas I was leanin' on a cattle stock pen and just as I looked down, a scorpion was about an inch away from my arm. I just freaked!!!!!

But a scorpion landin' on your face is HOLY TERROR!!
