coffee maker

I'm just reading some of the old threads on coffee. I see you got a new maker you like.

Just wanted to say that a replacement carafe is not hard to find at a big thrift store, so if you haven't chucked your machine, you could be on the lookout for the replacement and have the machine as a backup, or for the hunting cabin <g>, or whatever.

PS my "coffee maker" is a kettle into which I only put filtered water (Brita) so there is no corrosion or minerals, and the litre of freshly boiled water is slowly poured over freshly fine-ground coffee in a drip cone, ending up in an old wide-mouth thermos, where it stays warm for a little while. Very wabi-sabi. And cheap, as wabi-sabi tends to be.
