Today i went fishing to a lake so stunning i just loose myself in a trance like state. Even thought it was thrashing it down with rain i was dry under my fishing brolly an lost in nothingness. I dont no why i say fishing i dont go there for that reason , well mabye %30 im there to chill . I look at the other guys fishing, eyes stuck to the floats waiting for a bite from a fish and im sat on my fold up carp chair feet on a log and spark up a cigar. I carnt do this all day it has a time laspe of about 3-4 hours then i pack up and go, its a fix in the brain being alone with nature rain snow or whatever , i need it so i do it.

Sewer, your experience explains exactly why I moved away from the city to the boonies and why I live out in the country. I love to sit on my porch and watch the hummingbirds or deer or just sit and listen to the birds and smell the fresh air. People asked me why I was moving so far away and to such a remote area. I told them it was good for my brain. I think you know what I mean.

That does sound amazing.
I used to live in a tiny town, for part of elementary school, all of high school and then on and off in my twenties (same town). I now live in one of the biggest cities in my country. Most of the time I hate it, but I don't really know what else to do at this point. I still want to go to college so until I can make up my mind about it I'm going to stick it out. I counteract it with spending as much time as I can in parks, walking down residential streets rather than main ones (they have beautiful big trees and gardens, and it greatly reduces the noise of traffic and city life) and dream of the day I will no longer be here. So far it's enough...barely.

I too love the ocean. I count myself lucky to live so close to it, even though I don't get to it nearly as much as I'd like. Funny how that works. I can be so close to something and never see it...

Sounds like me the other day laying in bed listening to the rain hit the aluminum awning outside my bedroom/balcony.

in ENGLAND 70miles is the fathest anyone can live from the sea , being a small island , i used to spend my holidays looking out to sea, NOW is full of wind farm turbines and it breaks my heart, Has a kid i thought the sea went on forever and ever . i would sooner a nucular plant hid away somewhere for fuel than to RAPE the sea of its beauty.

This is the LAKE, one look tells its own story . This is 1 mile from town , ENGLAND has lake,s and rivers always close by, but this holds the magic for me. To the left you can see stages that you fish from, they are dotted round the lake so you accually sit on the lakelost in you own head
